The 3 Colonias are a Cologne music group that is mainly active in carnival .
history
The 3 Colonias were founded in 1976 by Dieter Steudter from Cologne. Steudter, a trained master confectioner, ran his own café on Kaiser-Wilhelm-Ring until the mid-1980s , when he had to give it up for health reasons. From the beginning of the 1970s he began to compose and write and to perform at carnival himself. He was accompanied by the accordionist Walter Haarhaus. In order to emulate their role models, the Eilemann Trio , a bassist , Paul Rumpen, was added, followed two years later by Oliver Hoff.
The group had their breakthrough with the songs Ja die Oma wants nach Palma und Bier and en Appelkorn . In 1980 the group composed and produced the fan anthem Wir sind die Haie for the ice hockey club Kölner Haie . In 1993 Dieter Steudter composed the carnival hit Eimol Prinz zo sin for Wicky Junggeburth , which the 3 Colonias also produced and published.
In 1992 Walter Haarhaus left the 3 Colonias , and Andreas Weber joined him as a keyboardist . Oliver Hoff began a solo career as a comedian and Millowitsch imitator; Willi Wilden followed him. Ash Wednesday 2001 Frank Morawa took the place of Andreas Weber. On Ash Wednesday 2013, guitarist and singer Robert Lennerts and keyboard / accordion player and singer Marcus Schmitter, who had performed as Die Original Bergischen Gaudibuam since 1990 and as De Spetzbove since 2006 , replaced Willi Wilden and Dieter Steudter and formed together with keyboardist Frank Morawa the new line-up of the musical group. Robert Lennerts left the group in 2015 for professional reasons. Fred Isenberg came for him as the new singer (as of 2015). Dieter Steudter stayed with the group as a manager until 2015.
