Wicky (Wilfried) Junggeburth (born September 17, 1951 in Cologne ) is a German presenter on West German radio for the Cologne Rose Monday procession and dialect singer .

Life

Junggeburth grew up in Cologne and attended the Rose Monday procession at the age of eight, and when he was ten he gave his first hand-made speech . During his school days he moved to Bergisch Gladbach in 1962 . In 1968 he began an apprenticeship as a banker. In 1990 he joined the Cologne carnival society Nippeser Bürgerwehr from 1903 . In 1993 Junggeburth was with Karl Petry and Artur Tybussek as prince in the Cologne triumvirate . Here he sang the carnival song Eimol Prinz zo sin , which he wrote himself and Dieter Steudter from Die 3 Colonias had composed for him. In the same year he became Senate President of the vigilante group.

His one-week representation at the 3 Colonias in 1994 was decisive for the beginning of his stage career in 1995. In 1996 he co-hosted the show Jecke Tön for the first time on WDR 4 .

Since 2000, with the support of Bruno Eichel († December 21, 2016), Wolfgang Nagel, Marita Köllner and Guido Cantz , he has hosted the Cologne Rose Monday Parade for WDR television. He is also a frequent guest and expert in television programs on the Cologne Carnival and the history of the city of Cologne and the Carnival.

Junggeburth lives with his wife Catherine in Honrath .
