Career

Köllner grew up in the Severinsviertel . At the age of ten she was already performing at carnival meetings. Due to the positive mood in the carnival season, she dealt with private problems with her violent stepfather . The local pastor served as her replacement. This brought Köllner to the KAJUJA events , which helped her to later success. In view of her red hair, she chose the stage name "Et fussich Julche" (The red-haired Julchen) for her hand-made speeches, which is reminiscent of the famous Cologne comedy of the same name. In 1988 she wrote the song “Denn mir sin kölsche girls” together with Henning Krautmacher, the lead singer of the Cologne band Höhner . The song was actually only supposed to be performed at a celebration for Köllner's stage anniversary, but it turned out to be her first hit. Since then, the Cologne native has been active in the carnival as a singer who worked away from the stage in the Cologne city administration. In 1997 she temporarily moved to Mallorca after the surgical removal of a benign tumor . In 2000 she took over the moderation of the television show Foolish Hit Parade together with Gisbert Baltes . For the WDR she also reports in live broadcasts from various carnival events, including the opening of the session on November 11th and the Cologne Rose Monday procession with Wicky Junggeburth .
