Die Allergie is a German rock band that can best be classified as alternative metal . It was founded in 1993 and due to its brute sound and the fact that it has addressed many controversies, it is also included in the New German Hardship . The people of Baden-Württemberg sing about rape , necrophilia , drug addiction and sects in their lyrics .
history
Through numerous appearances with bands such as Schweisser , Laibach , Subway to Sally and others, the EMI record label became aware of Die Allergie soon after it was founded . In 1995 the debut album Psalm in lead was released . After further tours, including with Fleischmann and Napalm Death , the band decided in 1998 to go their own way and left EMI's sub-label Spin Records , to which they had been signed two years earlier. In the same year she published the MCD Demokratie on her own , whereupon the musicians received numerous contract offers. In July of the same year they decided on the sub-label Rise Up from Last Episode Productions, which was founded especially for them .
A little later Danny Böhm joined the band as keyboardist , and so the quintet released their second album Dunkelgraue Lieder for the next millennium in February 1999 , of which more than 10,000 copies were sold across Europe.
At the beginning of 2000 the work on the third and so far last album Virus III began . Shortly after the recordings, bassist Markus Knapp, who had been a member of Atrocity from 1994 to 1995 , left the band and was replaced by Jan Beckmann. However, he left the band after a short time for professional reasons, whereupon Markus Knapp decided to become part of the band again. A little later, Rise Up released Die Allergie from the contract due to poor sales of the third album.
Due to a false statement , singer Albi was sentenced to imprisonment at the beginning of 2001 , which he served until September 2001. Since he had drug problems at this time, he did a drug withdrawal therapy until May 2002 , which he successfully completed.
Since then it has become quiet about the quintet. There has not yet been an official breakup of the band.
