Die Baumhauskönige (Original title: Bouwdorp ) is a Dutch children's film from 2014. It was released on April 7, 2016 in German cinemas in the distribution of farbfilm .

action

The film tells the story of the two friends Ziggy and Bas who get into an argument at a holiday camp. While in previous years they had always won the competition for the tallest tree house together, they are now joining different teams. The background to the dispute is that Ziggy spends a lot of time with the beautiful Elena at school theater rehearsals, in whom Bas is also interested. Bas' new team is the "Cola Gang", which Ziggy rejects and harasses more and more aggressively. Ziggy, on the other hand, is on the team of his younger brother Flin and is resourceful with him. Eventually, however, Flin is kidnapped by the "Cola Gang", who as a ransom demand the return of the bars that Ziggy's team has stolen. The situation escalates.

criticism

The Filmdienst judges of the "swinging adventure film for children describes how quickly misunderstandings and lack of communication can undermine a solid friendship." Despite “staging weaknesses”, it remains “close to the children's world of experience” and offers “the target group good entertainment”.
