organization
The Dargebotene Hand is an amalgamation of fourteen regionally anchored, independent organizations under a nationwide umbrella organization . It is denominational, culturally and politically neutral. It is based on the principles of the international association IFOTES (International Federation Of Telephonic Emergency Services). The Swiss Association is ZEWO certified. All regional offices are entitled to use the ZEWO seal of approval .
consultation
The Dargebotene Hand takes on the telephone number 143, which applies to the whole of Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein , and on the Internet with e-mail and individual chat (see web link), the role of a listening and accompanying conversation partner with whom the person seeking advice about everything can talk. The anonymity is preserved. As a low-threshold and easily accessible offer, it would like to make a contribution to absorbing crisis situations and preventing short-circuit actions.
Between 1975 and 2007, the number of consultations increased continuously. In 2014 there were over 163,138 phone calls. This work is mainly supported by the social commitment of the volunteers . The Dargebotene Hand is financed by donations, churches, foundations , private individuals, companies and institutions as well as partly by municipalities / cantons.
