The Gnoufs (original title: Les Gnoufs ) is a computer-animated French children's television series by Bertrand Santini in 52 episodes, which was broadcast from 2004 to 2007. It was originally broadcast on France 3 . The ZDF and the broadcaster Nick broadcast it in the German version. The name Gnouf is a fantasy term.

action

The series revolves around seven extraterrestrial life forms, the Gnoufs, who explore the earth . These beings have a rounded shape, humanoid extremities and sensory organs, with the exception of Hippo-Gnouf, which looks like a hippopotamus, and Hampel-Gnouf, which is a box devil . Otherwise they only differ in their color. Gnoufs can leave their bodies and slip into both animate and inanimate things. The Gnoufs have balloons with which they can fly longer distances if necessary, even in space . Each of the beings has certain philosophical and social traits.

Each episode lasts about ten minutes and presents the Gnoufs with puzzles or problems. The series often highlights environmental issues and human error.
