Concept and structure

The anthology brings together texts by people from different subgroups of those population groups who are known under such different names as Roma and Sinti , Lovara , Kalderasch , Gitanos, Gypsies, Travelers or Yeniche . Discrimination and persecution are important overarching themes in the anthology. This also includes texts that deal with the topic of the Auschwitz extermination camp . In contrast, there are texts about the identity of the Rom , as well as poems about music and art , as well as texts that address writing itself.

The texts are arranged within the volume according to the countries of origin or the place of residence of the authors. This principle always reaches its limits due to the frequent migration movements of the writers.

reception

In the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung , Angelika Overath praises the anthology as a "pioneering act" and calls it "special" and "precious". In his review in the Süddeutsche Zeitung, Karl-Markus Gauß declared the volume to be a "discovery", an "impressive editorial achievement".
