The Romans on the Moselle and Saar

The Romans on the Moselle and Saar (evidence of Roman times in Lorraine , Luxembourg , the Trier area and Saarland ) was the title of an exhibition in 1983 at the Rolandseck train station (September 12 to 28) and in Paris ( Palais du Luxembourg , 6. until October 31st), which was organized by the museums of the Saar-Lor-Lux region (Musée de l'Etat Luxembourg, Musée d'Art et d'Histoire de Metz, Museum of Prehistory and Early History Saarbrücken and Rheinisches Landesmuseum Trier ) .

A catalog of the same name with 46 color and 346 black and white illustrations was published by Verlag Philipp von Zabern for the exhibition . Among other things, it contains essays on the history of the Treveri and Mediomatrics . The catalog section describes the numerous exhibits from the areas of metal extraction and processing, transport, drinking water supply, gods and sanctuaries, graves and the cult of the dead, agriculture, handicrafts and trade as well as settlements and living culture.
