The vision was a band from East Berlin and one of the most important representatives of the other bands in the GDR.

history

The vision was founded in 1986 from the band Komakino . In 1986 Komakino published an underground tape live in the Hörnle Klub Berlin with the line-up of Uwe Niels von Geyer (vocals), Peter Kunstmann (guitar), René Radzischewski (drums), Andreas "Devo" Lehmann (bass) and Tom (keyboard) . The first publications of the band, now called Die Vision , were also released on cassette and achieved cult status in the alternative GDR scene. The first tapes were produced by Geyer, Kunstmann, Radzischewski, Jörg “Joggy” Müller (bass) and Jan Wanschura (keyboard) on their own. At the concert of the band Die Toten Hosen in front of the Hoffnungskirche (Berlin-Pankow) , Die Vision was the opening act.

In 1988 Kunstmann was replaced by Sebastian Lange (later with In Extremo ), in 1990 Radzischewski by Ulrich Lange (ex- Mixed Pickles ). For the band's first regular long player, Torture , in 1990, Mark Reeder, a producer who matched the band's ideas, was hired. In 1991 the group's second album, Fascination , was released, followed in 1993 by a maxi CD entitled Dancing on the Beach . In the meantime, keyboard player Wanschura had also been replaced by Matthias "Matze" Harnoss. After internal disputes about the further musical direction of the band, the group separated in 1994.
