background

With his previous album Guten Abend, Hip Hop… from 2016, Haze achieved widespread fame. He then went on tour with RAF Camora, among others . His first single was released on October 29, 2017, entitled Es geht los . It was released on YouTube and at the same time announced his second album, which was to be titled The Twilight LP .

Typical of his style of music, the beats are based on the boom bap of the 1990s. In terms of content, his texts are close to the gangster rap style . As in his previous album, producers Dasaesch and Dannemann were responsible for creating the beats.

On February 23, 2018, the album entered, among other things, number three in the German album charts determined by GfK Entertainment , in which it was able to stay for a total of three weeks.

Cover design

On the cover you can see the rapper exhaling smoke. The background is black. The album title is at the bottom right and its name at the top left. Both are in white letters.

reception

The album received mostly positive feedback.

The reviewer Robin Schmidt from the Laut.de e-zine awards three out of five stars. Haze describes his milieu as "dark", but it is "believable". He captivates "in terms of flow with speed and precision".

The reviewer of the online magazine rap.de writes that the "unique slang of Badeners and individual foreign-language words [...] make Haze absolutely unique". In addition, the rapper “got his stories to the point even better”. So every song creates "its own atmosphere".

For Lukas Päckert from MZEE , the album tends to be viewed from a positive side. It hits “a rough, dull boom bap, which at the same time perfectly captures the gloomy mood of the seventeen tracks”. It could be "almost completely convincing", only the topics were "monotonous".

The reviewer of the trade magazine Juice is largely positive. The story is "varied" and "down to earth". It is summed up: "The unapproachable demeanor, the dry manner of presentation and the charming Eastern Bloc slang give the album a wonderfully nonchalant aftertaste that is bursting with authenticity".
