The journal, which is documented by Verlag Chemie , based in Berlin from 1927 to 1941, was published by the Association of German Chemists in cooperation with the German Society for Chemical Apparatus (Dechema).

From 1928 to 1930 the chemical factory was also sold on commission by the Leipzig- based publishing house Haessel . The paper was related to various journals of the Association of German Chemists, for example it was a supplement to the journal for applied chemistry in 1927 . The chemical factory was later replaced by the title Chemical Technology . The current successor title is Chemical Engineer Technology .
