The Most Beautiful Swiss Books is an annual book design competition in Switzerland. It has been hosted by the Federal Office for Culture ( Switzerland )since 1999. Outstanding achievements in book design and production are awarded. The selection is made by a jury, which i. d. Usually selects between 20 and 40 books from the applications. A Swiss book is any book that has been published by a Swiss citizen or by someone for min. 5 years in Switzerland or if the printer or publisher is based in Switzerland. An egg. d. In the following year, a five-person jury will award the books from the previous year.

Mainly art books are awarded, but also children's books, catalogs, photo books and conventional literature. A catalog about the competition and the subsequent exhibitions is also published every year. The Jan Tschichold Prize will be awarded at the opening exhibition .

The jury is in a constant, irregular change, so that although individual members belong to the jury for a longer period of time, the cast only remains the same for one year. A special jury was convened between 2003 and 2006 to deal with book applications that came from the jury members themselves. There were u. a. François Rappo and Cornel Windlin have already presented the jury.
