Lars Müller (graphic designer)

Lars Müller (* 1955 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian graphic designer and publisher .

Life

Between 1974 and 1979, Müller completed an apprenticeship as a graphic designer in Zurich and Basel , then worked for a long time abroad, including at Wim Crouwel, and in 1982 opened the Atelier Integral Lars Müller for visual communication in Baden . In 1983, Müller founded Lars Müller Publishers , which mainly publishes books in the fields of design, art and photography. Since 1996 he has been a partner of Integral Concept , an international association for "transdisciplinary competence". He was close friends with the designer Josef Müller-Brockmann and the artist Richard Paul Lohse .

From 1985 Müller received various teaching assignments. Since 2009 he has been visiting professor at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design , the design institute at Harvard University . He is also a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale , the internationally renowned elite association for graphic designers, as well as a jury member of the Swiss Design Prize and, between 2008 and 2010, the Most Beautiful Swiss Books .

Müller has lived and worked in Switzerland since 1963, currently in Baden .
