Diebach is a suburb of Ingelfingen in the Hohenlohe district . It is located in the valley of the Langenbach, a tributary of the Kocher . The municipal area is 279 ha.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1316. There was a Niederdiebach, Unterdiebach and an associated Oberdiebach, this was located southeast of the village in the district of Diebsäcker. The hamlet that existed there was abandoned and no longer existed in 1703. The population in 1703 was 110 inhabitants. At that time there was also some viticulture. From the Middle Ages, Diebach was a subsidiary of the parish of Crispenhofen . In 1593 the Abbot of Schöntal, as the local lord at that time , decreed the assignment to his Catholic patronage parish Westernhausen . At that time, however, the church was looked after from the nearby Sindeldorf , where the youth also went to school. The parish church of St. Joseph, located on a hill above the village, was built in 1716/1717. In 1939 there were 197 inhabitants, at the end of 1945 there were 212.

On January 1, 1972 Diebach was incorporated into Ingelfingen.
