Sindeldorf is a district of the community Schöntal in Hohenlohekreis ( Baden-Württemberg ) and lies in the valley of the Sindelbach , a left tributary of the Jagst .

history

Sindeldorf was first mentioned in a document in 996. It belonged to the Lords of Krautheim and came from them to the Lords of Eberstein. In the course of the administrative reform in Baden-Württemberg in the early 1970s, Sindeldorf merged with seven other independent municipalities to form the large municipality of Schöntal on March 1, 1972.

Sindeldorf is located in the Sindelbach Valley. The Einfangbach flows in here. The place is deep in the valley. The district extends to the Hohe Straße , which is also called Römerstraße.

Community partnerships

An unofficial partnership has existed between Sindeldorf and the French community of Marigny-Saint-Marcel ( Haute-Savoie ) since 1959. This was initiated by Sindeldorfer Willy Humm, who worked as a prisoner of war on a farm in Marigny in 1946. A street in Marigny was named after Willy Humm on the 50th anniversary of the partnership. Another street is called "Avenue de Sindeldorf".
