The eponymous village of Waldenhausen, on whose boundary the northern part of the Teilbacher Mühle ( ) is located next to the village of Waldenhausen ( ) , is located in a loop of the lower Tauber at heights of 151  m above sea level. NHN on the left bank of the river and with newer settlement areas on the middle Gleithang up to around 185  m above sea level. NHN . A road bridge at 145  m above sea level. NHN connects it with the state road  506 on the right bank of the river, above which only the valley slope Walzenberg is part of the district, while on the left side of the valley it extends far to the plateau as far as the outskirts of Sachsenhausen. On this side of the valley, the so-called Reicholzheim tunnel of the Lauda – Wertheim railway line following the course of the river cuts off the meander a little southwest of the village .

Neighboring marks

Neighboring markings are Wertheim itself in the north, Reicholzheim in the southeast and Sachsenhausen in the south and west.

nature and landscape

The district is limited by the valley cuts of the partial stream in the south and the Dellengraben flowing through the Leberklinge, also called Spitalgraben, in the northwest; these waters themselves are both somewhat outside. In addition to the Tauber, the only permanent body of water in it is therefore the short power station canal of the Teilbacher Mühle at the settlement area shared with the neighboring village of Reicholzheim, which branches off from the Tauber at a weir.

Some fields are in the Tauber valley floodplain, but most of them are on the left on the plateau. The place has almost no meadows. The Walzenberg opposite Waldenhausen is a former vineyard slope exposed to the south-west to south-east with stacked dry stone walls, which today is overgrown with downward-moving rows of trees and hedges. Another and smaller such former vineyard area is located on the Mühlberg southwest of the locality. There is forest on the other slopes of the valley and at the two blade incisions.

history

Waldenhausen has a fortified church from the 12th century. Waldenhausen was an independent municipality in the Tauberbischofsheim district until it was incorporated into Wertheim on January 1, 1972. Since January 1, 1973, Waldenhausen has been part of the Main-Tauber district . As of December 31, 2017, Waldenhausen had 393 residents.
