Dertingen is a town in the large district town of Wertheim in the Main-Tauber district of Baden-Württemberg in the administrative district of Stuttgart .

Dertingen, where the northernmost point of Baden-Württemberg is located, is 168 m above sea level. NHN at Landesstraße 2310 . The village of Dertingen ( ⊙ ) and the residential area Renztal ( ⊙ ) belong to the district of the former municipality of Dertingen .

history
In the Middle Ages, Dertingen was characterized by its fortified church and two mills. It was an independent municipality in the Tauberbischofsheim district until it was incorporated into Wertheim on December 1, 1972. Since January 1, 1973, Dertingen has been in the Main-Tauber district . As of December 31, 2017, Dertingen had 858 inhabitants.

Fortified church Dertingen
In the village there is a fortified church from the 13th century with a churchyard, old circular wall, battlement and entrance gate like a residential tower, together with a late medieval granary building attached to the fortified church wall. All parts of the building are listed as a whole.
