Sachsenhausen lies at an altitude of 305 m. The village of Sachsenhausen ( ⊙ ) and the residential area Am Kirchenweg ( ⊙ ) belong to the district of the former municipality of Sachsenhausen . Neighboring towns are Nassig , Vockenrot , Waldenhausen , Reicholzheim , Dörlesberg and Sonderriet , all of which also belong to Wertheim.

history

The first written mention of the place is dated to the year 1178. In 1297 an independent parish was established, and in 1526 the village became Protestant. At the end of the Thirty Years War in 1649 Sachsenhausen had only 12 men and 16 women.

The current church was consecrated in 1879 and the schoolhouse built in 1906. On December 1, 1972 Sachsenhausen was incorporated into the city of Wertheim. In 1983 the school closed. The kindergarten, inaugurated in 1991, is located in the old school building.
