Thieving Magpies (Original title: Trinkets ) is an American television series by the video-on-demand provider Netflix and was released on June 14, 2019. It is based on the novel of the same name by Kirsten Smith and tells of a clique of young thieves. The series was created by Smith, Amy Andelson and Emily Meyer .

action

It is a somewhat unusual place where Elodie, Moe and Tabitha get to know each other: at a meeting of the anonymous kleptomaniacs . But the three have more in common than the tendency to compulsively steal. All three have their problems in life and traumatic experiences that they have to overcome, even if they don't want to admit it at first.

And so the teenagers soon become good friends who help each other out of a mess and have an ear for the needs and worries of others - when they are not busy with small prey tours.

Cast and dubbing

The German synchronization arises after dialogue books and under the dialogue director Sven Plate by the synchronous company VSI synchronous in Berlin.

criticism

Oliver Armknecht rated the series on film-rezensions.de with 5 out of 10 stars. He describes the scenario of the series as "original", but at the same time criticizes the fact that the series itself makes "too little" of it. All in all, the series then "does not go above average despite the diversity concept and solid actresses."

At Rotten Tomatoes , 57 percent of the seven evaluated reviews are positive.
