Diego Gerardo Calvo Fonseca (born March 25, 1991 in San José ) is a Costa Rican soccer player. He is under contract with the Norwegian first division club Vålerenga Oslo and has been on loan at the Swedish first division club IFK Göteborg since August 2014 . He is a Costa Rican national player and reached the quarter-finals with the national team at the 2014 World Cup .
Career
society
Diego Calvo began playing football as a youth at LD Alajuelense and was promoted to the club's professional team in 2010. In spring 2013 he moved to Europe and signed with the Norwegian first division club Vålerenga Oslo . In August 2014 Calvo moved to Sweden on loan to IFK Göteborg .
National team
In 2011 Calvo took part in the 2011 U-20 World Cup in Colombia . In 2014 he was nominated by the then national coach Jorge Luis Pinto in the squad of the Costa Rican team for the 2014 World Cup , but was not used there.
