Dienst is a short film by Jochen Alexander Freydank . The approximately 12-minute satire was produced by Mephistofilm GbR and shot in Berlin in 2002. The film received numerous nominations and awards and was shown for the first time on German television on February 16, 2005 on ARTE .

The film shows a security guard at work. In a fictional system, this security guard can do what he wants. He ensures order. But increasingly one notices that he is crossing borders. People have to die. Criminals at the beginning and at the end are almost random passers-by.

Service is a mixture of satire and mockumentary . The film was shot in just two days in Berlin with a partially hidden camera.
