Prison Officials Medal of Service
The seniority award for prison officials was a service award of the Kingdom of Italy , which was donated in two stages. The silver or gold-plated medal shows the goddess Italia on its obverse next to a lion who sits in front of a gate and guards it. The reverse bears the four-line inscription AL / MERITO DI / SERVIZIO (For merit in service). The medal was worn on a blue-green-white-red-blue striped ribbon above the left breast pocket of the recipient.
