Diepoltskirchen

Diepoltskirchen is a district and a district within the municipality of Falkenberg in the Lower Bavarian district of Rottal-Inn .

history

In the former district of Eggenfelden there were two communities with the name Diepoltskirchen , which were distinguished by the addition I and II . When the Diepoltskirchen II community was renamed Oberhöft on January 3, 1952, the Diepoltskirchen I community lost this number. On July 1, 1971 Diepoltskirchen was incorporated into Fünfleiten. On January 1, 1974, the community of Fünfleiten with Diepoltskirchen was incorporated into the Falkenberg community.

Parish Church of Saint Valentine

The late Gothic building was formerly a pilgrimage church . The ship was built in the 15th century. The onion roof of the church tower appears untypical for the Gothic building. The explanation for this is a fire in 1777, which destroyed the old tower as a result of a lightning strike. As a result of this unfortunate event, a new tower in the late baroque style was raised. At the same time, the interior of the church was redesigned in Baroque style .
