Dieter Anhuf

Dieter Anhuf (born February 1, 1955 in Duisburg ) is a German geographer and holder of the chair for physical geography at the University of Passau .

Life

Anhuf studied geography at the University of Gießen and the University of Bonn . He received his doctorate in 1987 under Wilhelm Lauer on Saharan dry areas and in 1990 Peter Frankenberg brought him to the University of Mannheim as a project manager (ecology of West African ecosystems) . In 1994 he completed his habilitation with Peter Frankenberg with a thesis on vegetation geography on the Ivory Coast. Anhuf represented Peter Frankenberg's chair for physical geography and regional geography at the Institute of Geography at the University of Mannheim during the rector's office. In 2001 Dieter Anhuf was appointed professor of tropical ecology in São Paulo, and in 2005 he was appointed to the chair of physical geography at the University of Passau .

Dieter Anhuf is a recognized tropical geographer and tropical ecologist. He is one of the few German-speaking experts on Francophone West Africa, especially the Ivory Coast and Senegal . He is also a good expert on Brazil.

Dieter Anhuf is a student of the Bonn geographer Wilhelm Lauer . Furthermore, Dieter Anhuf counts together with Martin Kappas , Christophe Neff , and Alexander Siegmund as pupils of Peter Frankenberg .
