Dieter Beese

Dieter Beese (* 1955 ) is a German Protestant theologian and has been a regional church councilor in the Evangelical Church of Westphalia since 2014 .

Career

Beese studied Protestant theology from 1974 to 1980 in Wuppertal , Bochum and Münster . After his vicarage from 1980 to 1985, he worked as the parish pastor of the Evangelical Markus Congregation in Mülheim from 1985 to 1991 . In 1990 Beese received his doctorate at the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the Ruhr University Bochum . From 1991 to 2001 Beese was a lecturer at the Evangelical Church in Germany for ethics in the police profession at the Police Leadership Academy in Münster-Hiltrup and pastor of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia for the church service in the police. In 2001 he completed his habilitation at the Protestant Theological Faculty of the Ruhr University Bochum.

From 2001 to 2012 Beese was Superintendent of the Evangelical Church District Münster of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia. Since 2007 he has been an adjunct professor for practical theology at the Ruhr University in Bochum, and since 2009 visiting professor at the Institute for Diaconal Studies and Diaconal Management (IDM) at the Wuppertal / Bethel Church. In 2014 he succeeded Johanna Will-Armstrong as a regional church councilor of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia.
