Dieter Cöllen

Dieter Cöllen (* 1953 ) is a German architectural model maker and phelloplastic ( cork sculptor ).

Life

Cöllen attended the Albertus Magnus Gymnasium in Cologne and is a trained draftsman . He worked for various Cologne architects before founding a studio for phelloplastics and architectural model making in 1985. Cöllen lives and works in Cologne.

At the beginning of the 1990s, Cöllen began to deal with phello sculptures of the 18th century, which were considered forgotten art. Today he is considered the only practicing artist of this discipline. In cooperation with scientists and archaeologists, he works for various collectors and museums.
