Dieter Frommlet

Dieter Frommlet (* 1933 ) is a German music director, composer and conductor who has made a name for himself primarily in contemporary choral music.

biography

After graduating from high school in Ravensburg in 1952 , Frommlet studied teaching at the State University of Music in Stuttgart . From 1957 he directed various choirs and a chamber orchestra as a professional choir director. He performed oratorios and numerous concerts in the greater Stuttgart area, recorded records and radio productions, including his own works. Frommlet was employed as a high school teacher from 1967 to 1976 at the high school of the Merz Stuttgart factory school.

From 1967 to 1984 Frommlet was Gauchor leader of the Swabian Choir Association and co-founder of the Stuttgart Chortage . In terms of choir work, he was also involved in the Association of German Professional Choir Directors and the Working Group of German Choir Associations . From 1975 to 1997 Dieter Frommlet acted as a lecturer for conducting, choir practice and ear training. In 1998 he stopped his choir director activity.

Prizes and awards

Dieter Frommlet has won numerous prizes with several choirs in choir competitions. He has also received numerous awards for his compositions. He received the Medal of Merit of the City of Waiblingen and the Robert Edler Prize of the City of Heilbronn.
