Dieter G. Weiss

Dieter G. Weiss (born October 3, 1945 in Munich ) is a German physiologist who works in the field of biosystems technology.

Life

Dieter G. Weiss studied biology in Munich and Tübingen. In 1976 he received his doctorate at the LMU Munich and completed his habilitation in 1982 . After academic activities and management positions in Germany and the USA, he held the chair for animal physiology at the Institute for Biosciences at the University of Rostock from 1993 until his retirement in 2011 .

The research and work areas are physiology of the nervous system of vertebrates and invertebrates, function of nerve cells, biosystem technology, reconstruction of neuronal systems, light microscopy at the limit of dissolution and environmental toxicology.
