Dieter Willi Heckmann (born November 28, 1959 in Sulzbach ) is a German politician ( SPD ). Since March 1, 2018, he has been a member of the Saarland State Parliament ( MdL ).

Live and act

After completing an apprenticeship as an electrical fitter and completing his military service , Dieter Heckmann initially worked as an electrician at Janes & Schorr in Dudweiler from 1981 to 1984 , before he made up his technical diploma in 1985 through a second educational path . He then began studying electrical engineering at the Wiesbaden University of Applied Sciences , which he completed in 1991 with the academic degree of graduate engineer . He then worked for Siemens as a project engineer until 1997 before becoming Head of Facility Management for the city of Sulzbach. From 2007 to 2014 he was authorized signatory of the municipal service company of the city of Sulzbach and from 2015 to 2018 authorized signatory of the Sulzbacher Gewerbeaniedlungsgesellschaft and appointed by the city as "City Manager".

Heckmann is married and has two children.

Heckmann joined the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) in 1992 and has been involved in local politics ever since . From 1994 to 1999 he was a member of the Sulzbach city council and has been chairman of the SPD local association Sulzbach-Mitte since 2010, chairman of the SPD city association Sulzbach since 2013 and a member of the Saarbrücken-Land district executive since 2014 (deputy chairman since 2014). On March 1, 2018, he moved into the Saarland state parliament as a replacement for Christiane Blatt , who resigned her state parliament mandate on February 28, 2018.
