Dieter Hildebrandt (Author)

Dieter Hildebrandt (born July 1, 1932 in Berlin ) is a German author.

Hildebrandt studied in Bonn, Munich, Berlin and in the USA and did her doctorate with Artur Kutscher . From 1961 to 1968 he wrote for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung and was an editor at Suhrkamp from 1969 to 1971 . Hildebrandt wrote mainly books on topics from literary studies and literary history ( Ödön von Horváth , Lessing ), on the history of the piano in the 19th (Pianoforte) and 20th centuries (piano, piano) and on the history of his hometown Berlin ( Die Menschen vom Kurfürstendamm , Berlin Encyclopedia ). In early 2005 Hildebrandt published a story of Beethoven's ninth symphony under the title The Ninth .

In 1980 Hildebrandt took over the direction and the script for the documentary The Yellow Star - The Persecution of Jews 1933–1945 , which was nominated for an Oscar in 1981 for “ Best Documentary ”.

Hildebrandt lives in the Spessart .
