Dieter Kastovsky
Dieter Kastovsky (born December 26, 1940 in Bruntál ; † November 23, 2012 ) was a German Anglicist .
Life
From 1959 to 1967 he studied English, Romance studies, German philology and general linguistics in Tübingen , at the Free University of Berlin and in Besançon . Kastovsky received his doctorate in 1968; from 1967 to 1973 he was a research assistant for English studies at the University of Tübingen with Hans Marchand (1971–1973 with a research grant from the German Research Foundation ). From 1973 to 1981 he was full professor for English philology / linguistics at the University of Wuppertal . Since 1981 he has been a full professor for English linguistics at the University of Vienna .
