Dieter Krüger (born September 8, 1952 ) is a former athlete from the German Democratic Republic (GDR).

Krüger was GDR decathlon champion in 1973 and 1975 , ahead of Stefan Schreyer . With his second championship title in 1975 he also set his personal best with 8091 points. After he had finished third in the pentathlon in the GDR championships in 1975, he took second place behind Dietmar Schauerhammer in 1976 . Krüger was also runner-up in 1978 outdoors behind Rainer Pottel . Krüger won his last GDR championship title in 1979, when the Magdeburg 4 x 100 meter relay with Olaf Prenzler , Lutz Jaenicke , Andreas Kühne and Dieter Krüger won the final in 40.10 seconds as the final runner.

Krüger took part in ten competitions in the national jersey from 1971 to 1979, but not in international championships. He started for SC Magdeburg . With a height of 1.94 m, his competition weight was 92 kg. In the documents on state doping in the GDR that became public after the fall of the Wall , the name of Krüger was found among the doped athletes.
