Markus Pol (born May 17, 1976 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor , singer and musical performer .

Life

Markus Pol is a hearing actor and CoDA (Child of Deaf Adult). He grew up bilingual ( Austrian sign language and German language) and has also worked professionally with deaf-blind people .

Pol studied acting and singing at the Performing Center Austria. Before that he was lead singer in the bands Brazil and Beltane. He worked as the narrator in Benjamin Britten's operetta “Paul Bunyan” at the Bregenz Festival and was seen as Emperor Franz Joseph in the musical Elisabeth on the United Stages Vienna's Japan tour. He played leading roles in "Die Kaktusblüte", "Wer wird Megastar" and " Emil und die Detektiven " at the Theaterspectacel Wilhering, the Theater St. Pölten and the Stadttheater Klagenfurt .

Pol sang in the musical productions "Odysseus goes irr" (Zeus), " My Fair Lady " (Freddy) and "Figaro" (Philip / main role). Further engagements were in the theater in the Josefstadt / Kammerspiele ("Sing, Baby, Sing" and "Die Gigerln von Wien"), in the Raimundtheater ("Finix", "Verliebte & Verrückte") and the Renaissance theater ("Der Junge der in ein Book fell ”). Pol gained his first television experience with the ORF production “ Schlosshotel Orth ”; He also works as a speaker for audio books and radio plays. He appears with his solo program “Brel á Porter” with chansons by Jacques Brel in a new German translation. Pol lives in Vienna.
