Dieter Kreft

Dieter Kreft (born April 2, 1936 in Groß Mandelkow , Neumark ) is an administrative and educational scientist specializing in social work, social administration and social planning

Live and act

After completing his professional training as an administrative officer (Diplom-Verwaltungswirt (FH)), he studied law, economics and administrative sciences (Diplom- Kameralist ). He later completed a second degree in educational sciences (focus on social pedagogy) as a qualified pedagogue.

From 1952 to 1963 he worked in the general administrative service of the State of Berlin, then until 1971 in the field of school, public education and university administration, including as personal advisor to the school senator Carl-Heinz Evers . In the following ten years he worked as Senate Director ( State Secretary ) for the Senator for Family, Youth and Sport, Ilse Reichel-Koß , and in 1981 became full-time chairman of the board of the non-profit Foundation Social Pedagogical Institute Berlin (SPI). He held this position until 1987. Since then he has lived and worked in Nuremberg , where he and Hermann Glaser founded the Institute for Social and Cultural Work (ISKA) and headed it until the end of 1990. From 1990 to 1997 he was head of the Institute for Social Work and Social Pedagogy (ISS) in Frankfurt am Main . He then worked as a freelance specialist and organizational consultant.

Kreft is married to Ingrid Mielenz . He has two grown children.

Teaching activities

Since 1975 Kreft has been a regular lecturer at various technical colleges and universities , in 1993 he first became an honorary professor at the Northeast Lower Saxony University of Applied Sciences in Lüneburg and from 2004 at Leuphana University there .
