Dieter Lührmann

Dieter Lührmann (born March 13, 1939 in Lingen (Ems) ; † February 7, 2013 in Marburg ) was a German Protestant theologian (New Testament scholar) and university professor.

After studying in Bethel, Heidelberg and Göttingen, Lührmann passed his first theological exam in 1962 and his second in 1965. In 1964 he was at the University of Heidelberg as a result of by Günther Born comb supervised dissertation Dr. theol. PhD. In 1965 he became an assistant and - after completing his habilitation for the New Testament in 1968 - he became a university lecturer in Heidelberg in 1969. From 1974 he held the professorship for the New Testament at the Bethel Church University . In 1982 he switched to a professorship for the New Testament at the Philipps University of Marburg , where he retired in 2000 .

Lührmann had been a member of the Göttingen Academy of Sciences since 1995 .
