Dieter Martiny
Dieter Martiny (born March 21, 1944 in Großmöllen , Köslin district ) is a German legal scholar .
biography
Dieter Martiny studied law from 1963 to 1968 in Hamburg, Heidelberg, Freiburg and Munich. He passed the first and second state exams in Munich. This was followed by a doctorate (1975) and habilitation (1995) at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich .
From 1974 to 1996 Martiny was a research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg.
In doing so, he acted as a professor in Hamburg and Osnabrück .
From 1996 to 2009 Martiny held the chair for civil law , international private law and comparative law at the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder) .
Since October 1, 2009 he has been a guest at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg. He is also a lecturer at the European University Viadrina Frankfurt (Oder) for international private law and international civil procedure law (Germany) .
