Dieter Medicus (born April 7, 1957 in Kaufbeuren ) is a former German ice hockey player and since 2007 a member of the Hall of Fame of the German ice hockey museum and the son of Fritz Medicus .

Career

Dieter Medicus comes from the offspring of ESV Kaufbeuren , where he played until 1979. He then moved to the ECD Iserlohn and the EHC 70 Munich , before he played again at ESV Kaufbeuren until 1990 and together with Manfred Schuster, as a pair of defenders, formed the so-called Kaufbeurer city wall . After a move to BSC Prussia , he went to Augsburger EV , in 1995 he ended his career as a player with the Augsburger Panthers .

Internationally, he took part in the U20 World Cup in 1977 and then in the 1988 Winter Olympics , the Ice Hockey World Championships in 1983 , 1987 and the Canada Cup in 1984 .

In 1995/96 he took on the role of assistant coach at the Augsburger Panthern. From December 2006 to the beginning of February 2007 he took over the team manager function at ESV Kaufbeuren, as he no longer had a valid coaching license.

Dieter Medicus still plays in the senior team of ESV Kaufbeuren and takes part in charity games for the Sternstund team.

Professionally, he built the Dieter Medicus health center in Kaufbeuren and Bad Wörishofen .
