Dieter Pust

Dieter Pust (* 1939 in Klein-Silber , Arnswalde district, Pomerania ) is a German author and historian .

Life

Pust comes from an extended family that lived in Pomerania and was expelled in 1946. After graduating from high school in Flensburg , Pust first went to the armed forces as an officer candidate and, after completing his military service in Kiel, began studying literature and history . He received his doctorate with a thesis on the " Political Social History of the City of Flensburg (Investigation of the Political Leadership History of Flensburg in the 18th and 19th Century) ".

Between 1975 and his retirement in 2004, Pust was a teacher at the Hannah Arendt School in Flensburg. He taught the subjects German, economics and politics as well as philosophy . In addition, he worked as a local politician in the city for 22 years .

In the 1970s Pust began working as a writer and city historian.
