Dieter Sudhoff

Dieter Sudhoff (* the thirtieth May 1955 in Büren (Westphalia) ; † 24. June 2007 in Elsen (Paderborn) ) was a German literary scholar, who at the University of Paderborn , the specialist German Literature taught.

Act

Sudhoff published numerous research papers on the literature of the 19th and 20th centuries. One of his focal points was the German-language literature of Prague. Here he published studies on Ernst Feigl and Paul Leppin . He was editor of the studies on Prague German literature and dealt with Camill Hoffmann , Ludwig Winder , Franz Janowitz and Hans Janowitz and Walter Seidl .

Another regional focus of Sudhoff was the modern literature of Westphalia. Sudhoff was assistant at by Walther Killy issued Literaturlexikon in 12 volumes and the book published by Ingeborg Fiala-Prince Dictionary of German authors from Moravia and Silesia. Sudhoff published works by Otto Kreiner from his estate .

Sudhoff's research on the writer Karl May , with whose late work he dealt intensively, gained particular fame . Together with Hartmut Vollmer, he published the ten-volume “Karl May Studies” from 1991. He was active in the Karl May Society and, with Hans-Dieter Steinmetz, author of a five-volume Karl May chronicle.
