Walter Seidl
Walter Seidl (born April 17, 1905 in Troppau , Austrian Silesia , Austria-Hungary , † August 29, 1937 in Naples ) was a Czechoslovak German-speaking author.
Life
Walter Seidl was born as the son of the Reichsrat member Ferdinand Seidl and was to embark on an officer career. After the collapse of Austria-Hungary , he instead studied musicology at the University of Grenoble and became a music consultant for the Prager Tagblatt . He wrote novels and was briefly successful on stage with his grotesque and utopian dramas. He dealt with the German-Czech relationship and campaigned for an understanding between Germany and France . He died of typhoid at the age of 32 while on a boat trip .
