Dieter Vogt (born January 14, 1962 in Unterbruch ) is a German chemist and professor of technical chemistry at the Technical University of Dortmund .

life and work

Dieter Vogt studied chemistry at RWTH Aachen University , where he received his doctorate in 1992 in Wilhelm Keim's group . After completing his habilitation in 1998, he was appointed to the University of Eindhoven. The focus of his scientific work lies in the field of homogeneous catalysis , the recovery of catalysts and the use of new materials for catalytic processes. The use of membrane reactors for homogeneous catalytic processes was intensively investigated by him.

In 2012 Dieter Vogt moved from the University of Eindhoven to the University of Edinburgh , where he headed the Chair of Industrial Chemistry. In the spring of 2017, Dieter Vogt accepted an offer at the Technical University of Dortmund as Arno Behr's successor .

Dieter Vogt has been a Visiting Fellow at the Technical University of Berlin since 2015. In 2019 he received the Wöhler Prize for Sustainable Chemistry .
