Paweł Kieszek (born April 16, 1984 in Warsaw ) is a Polish football goalkeeper who has been under contract with the Portuguese club Rio Ave FC since the 2019/20 season .
Career
Paweł Kieszek began his professional career at Polonia Warsaw in 2003. There he was only a reservist for most of the time. In 2006 he was awarded to the Greek club Egaleo AO Athens , where he was eight games in goal. When he came back, Polonia was relegated to the second division . He only played a few games when he sustained an injury and was out the rest of the season. In total, he completed 25 games for Polonia. In 2007 he moved to Portuguese Sporting Braga on a free transfer . He made his debut on February 21, 2008 in the Europa League game against Werder Bremen . His first league game followed three days later in a 1-1 draw with Benfica Lisbon .
In January 2009 he was loaned to Vitória Setúbal for the remainder of the season , where he played ten games in goal. The 2009/10 season was not particularly successful for Kieszek. He only played three games in which he conceded four goals.
On July 2, 2010, he moved to league rivals FC Porto , where he signed a four-year contract. With Porto he won the Portuguese Championship 2010/11 , the Portuguese Cup 2010/11 and the UEFA Europa League 2010/11 .
For the 2011/12 season he was awarded to the Dutch club Roda JC Kerkrade . After 25 league appearances Kieszek returned to Porto. However, where he dissolved his contract and signed a two-year contract with Vitória Setúbal . He was always a regular goalkeeper and made 53 league games in two seasons. For the 2014/15 season he moved to league competitor GD Estoril Praia , where he was also number 1 in goal and made a total of 55 league games, three games in the Portuguese Cup and three Europa League games in two years. For the 2016/17 season he moved to the Spanish Segunda División for FC Córdoba .
