Dieter Voigtländer

Dieter Voigtländer (born December 27, 1943 ) is a former German cyclist and national champion in cycling .

Athletic career

His cycling career began in 1960 when he joined BSG Motor Hainichen and began regular training. He later moved to SC Karl-Marx-Stadt . In 1965 he started for the first time in the GDR national team in the Tour of Romania and finished fourth. On his debut in the GDR tour he was 12th in the same year, in 1966 he achieved his best tour result with ninth place. A year later, with second place, he narrowly missed victory in the domestic tour. He finished the Tour of Lower Austria in fifth place, the Tour of Bulgaria in twelfth, and in the classic Rund um Berlin he was second. In 1968 he won a GDR championship title in the team time trial with his sports club together with Reinhard Dertz , Siegfried Huster and Gerd Steiner . In 1969 he won a stage of the Tour of Yugoslavia, which he finished in 32nd place. In 1970 he started the International Peace Tour and finished 15th, a year later 30th.

Professional

Voigtländer completed an apprenticeship as a motor vehicle plumber.
