Dieter Wolf (sociologist)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Dieter Wolf (* 1942 ) is a German social scientist and computer scientist who has published several papers on the theories of civil society by Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel and Karl Marx .

Life

Wolf studied mathematics, philosophy , sociology , German and general and comparative literature in Freiburg im Breisgau , Paris and Berlin and received his doctorate with a thesis on Hegel and Marx. He works as a freelance scientist, software developer and was a member of an international working group of computer scientists whose research area is the Semantic Web .

Wolf understands his research and teaching activities as part of an interdisciplinary project, in which he develops an understanding of the connection between natural, social and human sciences based on the connection between natural history and human history.

In his works, Wolf particularly endeavors to provide a scientific representation of the theory of value with special consideration of the commodity fetish and the dialectical contradiction in the capital of Karl Marx. He also takes a critical look at representatives of the new Marx reading .

According to Wolf's interpretation of Capital , Marx claimed for himself the goal already formulated by Georg Friedrich Wilhelm Hegel in the Phenomenology of Spirit , "to transform philosophy as 'love of knowledge into real knowledge'". Wolf rejects the accusation of scientism and technological naturalization raised by philosophers against Marx's criticism of political economy, as well as the "manner (...) common among scientists of presenting capital as an unreal ideology and as a work of mystical irrational disguised by Hegel's philosophy ".
