Diethelm Burkhard

Diethelm Burkhard (born July 14, 1869 in Herrliberg ; † September 2, 1926 in Hombrechtikon ) was a Swiss politician ( BGB ).

biography

Burkhard grew up in Küsnacht on and completed from 1888 to 1891 at the Polytechnic of Zurich an agronomy . In 1906 he co-founded the Association of Northeast Swiss Cheese and Dairy Cooperatives , of which he was President from 1920, and from 1911 to 1924 he was Zurich's viticulture commissioner. As a representative of the farmers, trade and citizens' party, he sat in the Zurich Cantonal Council from 1917 and was elected to the National Council in 1922.

Burkhard was a board member of the Central Association of Swiss Milk Producers and from 1905 to 1911 managing director of the Society of Swiss Farmers. He was active as an active farmer politician who, in addition to organizing the milk producers, also took care of the re- cultivation of phylloxera-damaged wine cultures.
