Dietmar Jentzsch (born November 27, 1955 in Dornreichenbach ) was a soccer player in the GDR soccer game . For the BSG Stahl Riesa , he played in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of the GDR Football Association .

Jentzsch's football career began in 1962 at the agricultural company sports community (BSG) Traktor in Terpitz , Saxony . At the age of twelve he moved to the BSG unit Oschatz, where he last played in the fifth class district class. In 1977, the 1.82 m tall trained electrician was delegated to the league relegated Stahl Riesa. In the GDR league , Jentzsch was involved with ten point games and four goals in the immediate return to the league.

In the following three league seasons it was difficult for Jentzsch to assert himself in the steel team. He was only used on the sixth game day of the 1978/79 season in the league, in the encounter between Stahl Riesa and BFC Dynamo (1: 2) on September 23, 1978, he was substituted on in the 77th minute. Substitution and substitution then determined his further missions. It was only when Riesa was relegated again in 1981 that Jentzsch managed to play his way into the team. After the steelworkers missed promotion in 1982, they returned to the league in the 1982/83 season . Jentzsch played 28 of 30 games and played a decisive role as the top scorer for Riesa with 16 goals. In the subsequent 1983/84 season , too, things went perfectly for him. He was able to play all 26 point games, was the standard center forward and was again accurate with nine goals.

It remained the most successful season for Jentzsch, because in 1984/85 he only played nine league games over the full playing time and was only used in the first five league games in the second half of the season. After he had only played six point games in 1985/86, he announced his retirement as a league player at the end of the season. But when Stahl Riesa then got into relegation difficulties, he was reactivated as a striker in 1986/87 and 1987/88 and was used in 27 league games in these two years. After Stahl Riesa had to relegate despite his commitment in 1988, Jentzsch finally ended his career as a football player in the performance area. In his eight league seasons he had 123 appearances, which corresponds to a rate of 59.1 percent. He scored a total of 17 goals.
