Dietmar Münch (born September 27, 1954 ) is a former German soccer player. In the 1977/78 season he played for BSG Wismut Gera in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football .

Athletic career

Dietmar Münch was initially a young player at FC Carl Zeiss Jena , the football performance center in the Gera district . Before he was eligible to play for the men's area, he entered the junior league , where he was regularly used as a left winger. For the 1973/74 season he was nominated for the 2nd team of FC Carl Zeiss, but was not used there. In fact, Münch only appeared in the national league in the 1974/75 season. For SG Dynamo Fürstenwalde , a branch of the top club of the Dynamo Police Sports Association , he played 18 games in the second-rate GDR league in 22 games, in which, in addition to some missions in midfield, he was mainly used as a left defender. He scored two goals.

In the 1975/76 and 1976/77 seasons, Münch was not represented in higher-class football. It wasn't until 1977/78 that he drew attention to himself again with six games in the GDR league. He played these games for the Oberliga newly promoted Wismut Gera, although he had not nominated him for the season. After first appearances in the junior league, Münch came to his first league game on the 8th matchday between Wismut Gera and Dynamo Dresden (2: 4) in the left midfield position. After a long dry spell, he only played the last five league games again, four times as a central defender and once again in midfield. Then Wismut Gera rose from the league beaten again.

Dietmar Münch moved to the 1978/79 season for the GDR league club Motor Hermsdorf . There he won a regular place as a central midfielder with 20 appearances in 22 league games and was successful with two goals. However, as in the previous year, he had to accept a descent, this time to the third-rate district league . With his team he won the district championship and immediately rose again to the GDR league. For the 1980/81 season, Münch was appointed team captain and played as usual in the central midfield. He only missed one league game and scored the most goals of his team with five goals. The lack of goals in Hermsdorfer, the worst team with 23 goals, resulted in another relegation. Once again, Dietmar Münch Motor Hermsdorf helped to regain promotion immediately, but he was no longer represented in the squad for the GDR league season 1982/83.
