Dietrich Budäus

Dietrich Budäus (born June 21, 1942 in Berlin ) is a retired German professor for business administration and public management .

Career

Dietrich Budäus studied business administration, sociology and political science at the University of Hamburg, where he graduated in 1969 with a degree in business administration. From 1970 to 1978 he was a research assistant at the seminar for "Planning and Organization in Public Administration" at the University of Hamburg. In 1974 he completed his doctorate on the subject of "Decision-making Process and Codetermination". In 1982 he completed his habilitation on the subject of "Business instruments to relieve municipal budgets".

Dietrich Budäus was at the University of Bremen from 1978 to 1982 , from 1982 to 1986 at the University of Economics and Politics in Hamburg , from 1986 to 1989 at the University of Vienna , from 1989 to 1993 again in Hamburg at the University of Hamburg , and in 1994 at the German University of Administrative Sciences Speyer and from 1993 to 2007 at the Hamburg University of Economics and Politics as professor for business administration and public management. In 2007 he retired. Dietrich Budäus is married and has two children.

Awards

In April 2006, the Johannes Kepler University Linz awarded him an honorary doctorate in social and economic sciences.
