Dietrich Bundschuh

Dietrich Bundschuh , also Karl-Dietrich Bundschuh , (born January 26, 1930 in Kirchheim am Ries ) is a German lawyer; most recently he was presiding judge at the Federal Court of Justice .

Career

Bundschuh, who grew up in Nagold , studied law at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen and the Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg . After working in the judiciary of the state of Baden-Württemberg , most recently as a judge at the Stuttgart Higher Regional Court , he was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice on July 30, 1973. There it belonged initially to the 2nd Civil Senate and from July 1988 to the newly established XI. Civil Senate as its deputy chairman. In January 1990 he was appointed chairman of the IV Civil Senate , which was primarily concerned with insurance law , and of which he was a member until his retirement on January 31, 1995. He was then ombudsman for the Association of German Banks .

In 2000 the University of Leipzig awarded him an honorary doctorate in law (Dr. iur. Honoris causa).
